Speaker A:

Do you love your business but you hate marketing?

Speaker A:

If that sounds like you, I got you today because we are going to dive into what marketing actually looks like when it comes to building your operations.

Speaker A:

Business marketing is something that I hear from so many of my clients that they're like, I wish I didn't have to do the marketing piece.

Speaker A:

I just don't like it.

Speaker A:

I don't like putting myself out there.

Speaker A:

I don't like reaching out to people.

Speaker A:

I don't like xyz.

Speaker A:

If you insert your excuse right here.

Speaker A:

Now, if that is you, I'm going to give you some ideas and some tips that are going to help you when it comes to your marketing.

Speaker A:

Marketing is something that you really have to learn to fall in love with.

Speaker A:

And at first, I didn't like marketing either.

Speaker A:

But the longer I have been on this journey, the more that I have fallen in love with marketing.

Speaker A:

So we're going to dive into some tips for you today.

Speaker A:

Marketing really is just letting people know that you have a solution to their problems.

Speaker A:

That's all it is.

Speaker A:

So I want you to think, let's say that you have a friend who calls you up and is talking to you about a problem that they have.

Speaker A:

They really are looking for a great recipe to bake a loaf of bread.

Speaker A:

And they have tried all these other recipes and every time it just comes out flat.

Speaker A:

It's just not working.

Speaker A:

Doesn't matter what they tried.

Speaker A:

Like, this bread is just not coming out as bread.

Speaker A:

You, on the other hand, are amazing at making bread.

Speaker A:

And you have your grandmother's recipe that has tried and true and it works every single time.

Speaker A:

What happens if she's talking to you about that and you're like, oh, I'm sorry, of course you're going to say, you know what, let me help you out.

Speaker A:

I have this great recipe.

Speaker A:

I.

Speaker A:

Let me share it with you.

Speaker A:

That's really all marketing is.

Speaker A:

It's listening to people who have problems and saying, hey, I have that solution.

Speaker A:

Now, if your friend doesn't bake that bread and never makes your grandma's recipe, does that really matter?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

You offered it.

Speaker A:

That's all you got to look at.

Speaker A:

And so in marketing, sometimes we.

Speaker A:

We get so attached to the outcome.

Speaker A:

Now, it wasn't.

Speaker A:

The outcome was not my, I want my friend to make my grandma's bread.

Speaker A:

That's not the thing that we're looking for.

Speaker A:

We're looking at, someone has a problem.

Speaker A:

I'm going to offer the solution.

Speaker A:

That is the thing that we're looking for.

Speaker A:

And this is where people get stuck in marketing is because they start thinking, oh, I just don't know about this.

Speaker A:

I am so worried about all of the outcomes and am I doing the right thing?

Speaker A:

And I put a social media post out there and no one liked it.

Speaker A:

And then you start going through all the different things of like why this is just not working and you're just gonna stop.

Speaker A:

You need to fall in love with the process of marketing.

Speaker A:

It really is a process.

Speaker A:

So you put your offer out there, no one takes it.

Speaker A:

Okay, maybe we need to put it in a little bit different way.

Speaker A:

Maybe our friend didn't bake that loaf of bread because our recipe was in German and she doesn't know German.

Speaker A:

So we need to maybe translate it to a language that she understands.

Speaker A:

This is a big thing that I see when it comes to marketing is that people are looking at like, oh, I know how to talk about this.

Speaker A:

And so I am going to just talk about it in my own language and then use.

Speaker A:

Put your own language out there.

Speaker A:

Especially if you are a system person.

Speaker A:

You love systems.

Speaker A:

I love systems.

Speaker A:

But when you start talking a little bit too, like nerdy, geeky, you are going to start repelling your ideal clients.

Speaker A:

So sometimes we have to change the language that we are using when it comes to our marketing.

Speaker A:

Another piece of marketing is just, just visibility.

Speaker A:

Sometimes we need to put ourselves out there a little bit more than maybe we feel comfortable.

Speaker A:

And that's okay because maybe we have like this recipe is like our tried and true and we are not sure if we want to share it.

Speaker A:

But doesn't the world need bread right now?

Speaker A:

We need some good, good homemade old fashioned bread.

Speaker A:

And so we need to start sharing that this is something that maybe it's a talent of yours and your expertise that you have, your unique gifts, your talents, your strengths, those are all the things that you get to share with the world.

Speaker A:

And so we need to put out what it is that we have to offer.

Speaker A:

We need to maybe do a little bit more visibility when it comes to talking about what it is that we do and most importantly talking about what is the problem that we are solving because that is what is going to start attracting those right kind of people to you.

Speaker A:

So if you're having some trouble with marketing, I want you to start thinking through some of those things.

Speaker A:

How is it that you are showing up?

Speaker A:

Have you been marketing the right way?

Speaker A:

Have you been talking about the solution?

Speaker A:

If you're only talking about the features of the things that you offer and you're not talking about the Benefits.

Speaker A:

That is where you're not positioning yourself the right way.

Speaker A:

Because if we're just talking about the features, if we're just talking about our bread and we're like, yeah, well, it's got flour, it has honey, it has baking soda, maybe it has butter.

Speaker A:

You know, we started saying all the things that's in it.

Speaker A:

Okay, that's great.

Speaker A:

But if we're like, oh, this bread, when it comes out of the oven, it's going to have, like, that nice bread smell.

Speaker A:

Like, I can smell it already.

Speaker A:

It's smelling so good.

Speaker A:

And it has this nice, crunchy crust.

Speaker A:

And then when you slice into it, you can see.

Speaker A:

See the heat coming out of it, and it's just so fluffy.

Speaker A:

And you put that butter over the top and it's, oh, it's just gonna melt, and it just tastes so good in your mouth.

Speaker A:

That is the benefits, right?

Speaker A:

So we're talking about the benefits.

Speaker A:

We're not talking about the features.

Speaker A:

So I want you to look at the way you're talking about your offers that you have.

Speaker A:

You're talking about what it is that you do.

Speaker A:

Because if you're talking just about the features, no one's going to care.

Speaker A:

All they care about is the benefits.

Speaker A:

And this is all about your positioning and then creating more visibility.

Speaker A:

Because the better you can talk about the benefits of what it is that you do and the solutions that you offer, then the more people are going to start following you, the more people are going to start saying, hey, this person knows what they're talking about.

Speaker A:

I want to start following them.

Speaker A:

I want to start seeing what it is that they're doing.

Speaker A:

And there's going to come a time where they're going to have that problem.

Speaker A:

They're like, oh, I know this is a person I need to go to.

Speaker A:

And the best part of this is maybe they don't have that problem, but they are friends with another business owner who is talking to them about a problem they have.

Speaker A:

We have another friend who calls us up and is complaining about bread, and guess what?

Speaker A:

We're like, hey, so and so has the best recipe for bread.

Speaker A:

You got to call them, and they're going to be able to hook you up.

Speaker A:

That's exactly what it is that we're doing.

Speaker A:

When it comes to marketing.

Speaker A:

I know marketing can be a little overwhelming, but it doesn't need to be.

Speaker A:

If we are really looking at how can we use our unique gifts, our talents, our strengths, and we can go out and help other people with the solutions that we have to offer.

Speaker A:

Marketing becomes very easy because it's just talking about the solutions that you have and whether the people take that or not, that doesn't really matter because it's all about falling in love with the process.

Speaker A:

Remember, that's what marketing is all about.

Speaker A:

The other piece of this is as you are doing this over and over and over, you're getting more visibility.

Speaker A:

What this does is it brings credibility because if you are talking about one thing and then the next week you start talking about something else, and then the next week you start talking about something else and you're not consistent in your messaging, then people aren't going to know what it is that you're talking about.

Speaker A:

So you need to be consistent.

Speaker A:

And that's why on all the social media algorithms and everything, it's all about consistent consistency.

Speaker A:

So the more that you are showing up consistent with the consistent message, talking about your solutions, talking about how someone else was having a problem, if you have a client that was having a problem and then they have a solution, that's what this is all about.

Speaker A:

It's talking about the problems, solutions and being consistent in what it is that you do.

Speaker A:

And you say if you do that, marketing becomes easy.

Speaker A:

I want to challenge you to take all these tips that we've talked about and be consistent on social media.

Speaker A:

Talk about the problems and the solutions that you have to offer.

Speaker A:

Make sure we're talking about the benefits, we're not talking about the features.

Speaker A:

Put all of that into some of your social media posts and in the next week, see what it does.

Speaker A:

And if you think about it, come back here to this video and leave us a note in the comments.
